How to play

One question a day. The answer is a number. You get six guesses to get within the bullseye.

  1. 1Type an estimate. Big numbers are fine: 12k, 3.5 million, 2B.
  2. 2Each guess tells you which way to go (higher or lower) and how close you are.
  3. 3Closeness is measured on a log scale, so 2× too high is as far off as 2× too low.
  4. 4Hit the bullseye to win. Each question shows its window: 5% for most, up to 15% when the true figure is itself fuzzy.

Score

Your score (0 to 100) comes from your best guess. A bullseye scores 100. Otherwise it depends on how many times off you were, too high or too low alike: 1.25× off scores about 84, 2× off 60, 10× off 18.

A new question goes live at midnight, Athens time.
